"It all began with a dream".

Welcome to Fuzzy Fur Paws!  I'm Teresa, your maker and dog mom. I've been sewing and crafting since I was young. I've always had "busy hands", as is reflected in my chosen career as a forth generation barber/stylist.  I owned my own barbering business for over 24 years in Little Rock, AR. During that time, I also worked for ten years with Shih Tzu rescue groups, fostering and helping them to find loving homes and a second chance at love and the lives they deserved.

I the earlier days, I was blessed to have a great sewing teacher, my grandmother Nona.  She was a fantastic seamstress and owned her own fabric store in Cave City, AR. She taught me how to sew and many other handcrafts when I was young. I can remember sitting on her lap as she sewed on her Singer treadle sewing machine.  I was instantly hooked on anything involving sewing. She passed down her wealth of knowledge of high quality fabrics and sewing techniques to me. It's why I insist on only the best fabrics to make my items. Quality is a must to produce an exceptional product.

I spent many years sewing for my family and the public. I made and designed pageant dresses for babies and toddlers when my daughter was young and competing.  I also enjoyed all kinds of handcrafts such as crochet, macrame, wreath making, cross stitch embroidery, and "sew" much more. For about three years, I also made and designed beautiful dog dresses and other pet clothing.

As a passionate animal lover, it's always been my dream of someday working in the pet industry. I especially love dogs, birds and bunnies. I currently have one Shih Tzu, Abby and one Morkie, Jack. All are rescue dogs.  Last, but certainly not least, there's Penny. She's a very vocal, sassy and entertaining African Grey parrot. They all enjoy spending their day with me in my sewing room. It's their favorite place to just hang out and nap.

On September 15, 2013, I suffered a serious fall breaking my left arm and shoulder. Sadly, that accident ended my days of cutting hair.  But as it's been said, "When one door closes, another one opens".  The injury opened the door for me to follow my dream of owning by own handmade dog/pet boutique. I enjoy making things for dogs and the humans who love them.  I went out and purchased a basic embroidery machine and made it happen.  Six months later I upgraded to a multi needle machine which enabled me to produce bigger and better items and produce them faster.

I am so blessed to live out my dream using my God given talents, to make unique, high quality pet gifts made in the USA. My focus has been personalized dog  toys, blankets and pillows, yet I am expanding my product line continually. Everything in my shop is made in my home by me.  There's no warehouse of ready to ship items, no mass production, and no employees.  I make everything you see in my shop.  I sincerely hope you love my items as much as I love creating them.  Click on the "reviews" under my shop name, to see what customers have to say about my work and customer service.

Teresa has been the absolute best merchant to deal with on Etsy. She is so responsive and quick to answer questions. I ordered the top knot pillow for my shih tzu and she not only helped with sizing, but even followed-up when I was asking about tips to get her to using the pillow. Highly recommend...there are not enough stars!
